How We Vet Every Pro Before They Quote You

The five checks every partner passes

1. Active trade licensing. Where a state or local license is required for the trade, we verify it against the licensing board record at onboarding — number, classification, and status.
2. General liability insurance. Partners must attest to active general liability coverage appropriate for their trade, and provide certificate details on request for any matched project.
3. Business identity. A real, operating business entity — legal name, physical service address, and a working business phone that we confirm before activation.
4. Contact compliance. Partners agree in writing to TCPA-compliant contact practices: they may only contact homeowners who submitted a documented, TrustedForm-certified consent, and must honor every opt-out immediately.
5. Conduct standards. Written quotes, no deposit demands beyond state norms, no deductible-waiver offers on insurance work, and a complaint-resolution commitment. Partners who generate verified complaints are removed.

Where our cost numbers come from

Every range in our cost guides, calculators, and the Project Advisor follows the same method. We start from national trade-pricing surveys and manufacturer suggested-install figures, cross-check them against published contractor pricing in major metros across four regions (Southeast, Texas, Mountain West, and the Northeast corridor), and sanity-check the result against what our own partner contractors actually quote in matched projects. Ranges are reviewed twice a year — most recently in July 2026 — and each guide states the assumptions behind its numbers, such as home size, material grade, and whether tear-off or disposal is included.

Two honest caveats we repeat everywhere: national ranges are a starting point, not a promise — coastal metros commonly run 10–25% above the midpoint while smaller markets run below it — and the only number that matters for your project is a written local quote against a defined scope. That is why every guide ends the same way: with the tools to get one.

Why we publish cost ranges

Most matching services hand your number to contractors and disappear. We publish real cost guides and calculators for every service first — so when quotes arrive, you can judge them against honest 2026 numbers instead of guessing. An informed homeowner is a better customer for a good contractor, and a bad deal is harder to sell.

Your project details are shared only with the partners matched to your request, exactly as described on our Contractor Partners page. Every submission is documented with an independent TrustedForm certificate that records the form, the disclosure language, and the time of consent.
